SEW to GROW – Kids Summer Sewing Camps
Join us this summer at This n’ That Creative Studio for SEW to GROW, our fun and inspiring sewing camps designed just for kids! Campers will learn essential sewing skills, build confidence, and express their creativity through hands-on projects they’ll be proud to take home.
Each week will feature a new sewing theme, from cozy accessories and wearable art to home décor and plushies—there’s always something fresh and exciting to create! Whether your child is brand new to sewing or already has some experience, they’ll learn and grow in a fun, encouraging environment.
Camps will run M-Th from 9AM-2PM. Perfect for kids ages 7+, our camps are limited to just 8 campers per session to ensure personalized instruction and plenty of space to create.

Weekly Themes
Week 1: Summer Lovin’ Room Decor (June 1st-June 4th)
Campers design and sew cheerful decor pieces that brighten their bedrooms and celebrate summer creativity. Through beginner-friendly construction techniques, simple measuring skills, and decorative embellishments, kids learn how handmade pieces can transform a space.
Skills developed: Measuring basics, straight seams, creative styling, beginner construction confidence
Projects:

Week 2: Sew & Style June 8th–11th)
Campers step into the world of wearable design, learning how to create simple garments and accessories that reflect their personality. With guided instruction and confidence-building techniques, beginners master foundational skills while completing stylish, functional pieces.
Skills developed: Basic garment construction, elastic casings, seam finishing, creative self-expression
Projects:
- Elastic-waist skirt or shorts
- Scrunchies
- Simple crossbody bag
- Headband or hair bow
- Beginner tote bag
- Custom fabric belt
Week 3: Sleepover Swag Sewing Party (June 15th–18th)
This high-energy week is all about cozy, cute, and celebration-ready sewing projects. Campers create fun sleepover essentials while learning beginner construction skills and decorative techniques that make each project uniquely theirs.
Skills developed: Straight stitching, soft fabric handling, personalization techniques, project sequencing

Week 4: Upcycle and Denim Remix (June 22nd–25th) 9AM-2PM
Campers explore sustainable fashion by transforming existing garments into something new. Through patchwork, embellishment, embroidery, and redesign challenges, kids learn how creativity can reduce waste and inspire innovation.
Skills developed: Innovation, sustainability awareness, advanced sewing techniques

Week 5: Road Trip DIY (July 6th-9th)
Inspired by adventure and travel, campers sew practical, on-the-go accessories perfect for summer trips. This beginner-friendly week focuses on functional sewing skills while creating items kids can actually use.
Skills developed: Zipper basics, sturdy seams, measuring skills, practical construction

Week 6: Fashion Week (July 13th-17th) ****Please note, this specific camp runs Mon. through Fri. from 9am-3pm****
Campers experience the full fashion design process from concept to runway. Throughout the week, they sketch, cut, sew, and style a complete look using beginner-friendly garment techniques. The week concludes with a Fashion Show on Friday at 3:15 PM where campers showcase their creations. Families welcome to attend.
Skills developed: Design planning, garment construction basics, confidence, presentation skills
Projects:
- Simple dress, romper, or coordinated set
- Matching accessory (headband, belt, or bag)
- Mood board and design sketch
- Fabric swatch board
- Garment tag with designer name
- Runway-ready styling piece
Week 7: Back to School (July 21st–24th)
Campers prepare for the school year by sewing stylish and useful essentials. This confidence-building week blends creativity with real-life function, helping kids head into the school year proud of what they made themselves.
Skills developed: Structured sewing, straight seams, simple closures, independence
Projects:

- Binder or notebook cover

Please note, if your child is currently enrolled or has attended a previous sewing camp, we will do our best to adjust projects based on their skill level and projects to avoid potential duplicates.
Children should bring a water bottle, and a sack lunch each day. We will provide snacks and water. Please specify any allergies upon registration.
